OEKO-TEX® is a certification system that verifies the safety of textile products by testing them for harmful substances. It's a globally recognized label that indicates a product has passed rigorous safety tests and is free from chemicals that could pose a health risk, according to Oeko-Tex. The most well-known OEKO-TEX® label is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, which certifies that every element of a textile product, from the thread to the button, has been tested for harmful substances.
Key aspects of OEKO-TEX®:
Safety: OEKO-TEX® focuses on ensuring textiles are safe for human health, especially for children, people with allergies, and those with sensitive skin.
Testing for Harmful Substances: OEKO-TEX® tests textile products against a list of over 1,000 harmful substances, and the stricter the human ecology requirements, the more intensive the skin contact is.
Multiple Certifications: Besides STANDARD 100, OEKO-TEX® offers other certifications, such as MADE IN GREEN (for traceable and transparent product labels) and STeP (Sustainable Textile and Leather Production) (for social and environmental standards in production).
Global Standards: OEKO-TEX® uses globally standardized test criteria and reviews its limit values for harmful substances at least once a year.
Transparency and Sustainability: OEKO-TEX® promotes transparency and sustainability in the textile industry by helping consumers make informed decisions and supporting companies in adopting responsible practices.
amfori BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) is an industry-driven initiative, now part of amfori, that aims to improve social performance in global supply chains. It provides a methodology for companies to assess and address social and environmental risks in their supply chains, ensuring workers' rights and ethical practices are upheld.

CARE & FAIR – Carpet Trade Against Child Labour is an international industry initiative that aims to eliminate illegal child labor in the carpet weaving industry, particularly in South Asia. It also works to improve the living conditions of weaving families through education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment.
